Afternoon Classes

Kalculus for Kids – Register
Advanced math exploration, taught by Paul Gilden.
Dates: Tuesdays beginning 9/13 (7 weeks)

Camp VincaRegister
Learn the ins and outs of sled dog training and behavior from Henry Owen, Renee McManus, and their pack!

Afternoon PotteryRegister
Enjoy group lessons and learn how to throw, fire, and glaze pots with Johanna Barrett
Dates: Thursdays beginning 9/15 (7 weeks)
Times: 3:30-4:30p
Fees: $125, all materials included
Ages: K – 4th grade

TI Graphing CalculatorRegister
Learn to use the calculator needed for the AP Calculus tests.
Dates: Thursdays 9/29 & 10/6 (2 weeks)

Woodcarving & Sign-makingRegister
Learn how to design and build a sign, from letter carving to gold leafing, with Reed Hayden.

Art JournalingRegister
More than just writing and drawing–an art journal is a mini studio where you can ask questions and find answers. With Penny Ricker.

After School Math Classes for Middle and High Schoolers

Kalculus for Kids, SAT 2 Math Prep and Graphing Calculators with Paul Gilden

Paul Gilden has master’s degrees in mathematics and mathematics education from the University of Maryland. His teaching career has included a stint teaching university mathematics courses on US Air Force bases in Japan. He taught junior high school and high school mathematics for a total of 27 years before his retirement from George Ste- vens Academy in 2016. He has taken four teams to the national Mathcounts competitions, and he served for eight years as a reader for the national Advanced Placement exam in calculus. Built on the concept of a community center, this privately-owned facility is designed to provide a variety of programming for all ages. We currently offer after-school enrichment, arts and activities for children and adults, workshops, and private tutoring.
